Terms of Business

Status
We are independent Insurance Brokers who are authorised and regulated by the Financial Services Authority (FSA).

Service
Our service includes advising you on your insurance needs, arranging your insurance cover with insurers to meet your requirements and helping you with any ongoing changes.  We will also assist you with any claim you may need to make.

We offer a wide range of insurance products and have access to leading insurers in the marketplace.  We always act on your behalf in arranging your insurance portfolio.

Charges
It is not our practise to request charges in addition to the premium required by insurers, but if there are any specific charges these will be discussed in advance and shown as a separate item on our invoices.

We normally accept payment by cheque, credit card or alternatively, you can spread your payments through the insurers’ instalment schemes or a credit scheme which we will have arranged with a finance provider.

Interest payable to policy holders on monies held

For your protection we will hold premiums and claims monies, in accordance with FSA rules, in a statutory account. No interest earned by us in respect of each transaction will be remitted.

Complaints

It is our intention to provide you with a high level of service at all times.  If, however, you have reason to make a complaint about our service you should contact the Managing Director in the first instance and details of our complaints procedure will be provided to you. You may be entitled to refer it to the Financial Ombudsman Service. Further information is available at http://www.financial-ombudsman.org.uk.

We are members of the Financial Services Compensation Scheme. You may be entitled to compensation from the scheme if we cannot meet our obligations. This depends on the type of business and the circumstances of the claim. Further information about the compensation scheme arrangements is available at http://www.fscs.org.uk.

Customers Duty to Give Information
It is your responsibility to provide complete and accurate information to insurers when you take out your insurance policy, throughout the life of your policy and at renewal.  It is important that you ensure that all statements you make on proposal forms, claims forms and other documents are full and accurate.

Please note that if you fail to disclose any material information to your insurers you could invalidate your insurance cover which could mean that part or all of a claim may not be paid. If you are in any doubt about whether information is material, you should disclose it.

Withholding Documentation
We may retain certain documents such as your Insurance Policy or Certificate whilst we are waiting for full payment of premium from you.  We would not normally thereafter retain your documents on our files unless you specifically request us to keep them for you.  In these circumstances we will ensure that you receive full details of your insurance cover and will provide you with any documents which you are required to have by law.

Claims
When we receive notification of an incident that might give rise to a claim under your policy we will inform the insurer without any unnecessary delay.  We will notify you of any request for information we receive from your insurer.

Confidentiality
All personal information about you will be treated as private and confidential.  We will only use and disclose the information we have about you in the normal course of arranging and administrating your insurance and to provide information to you about other products and services which we feel may be appropriate to you.

Data Protection

All personal information about you will be treated as private and confidential (even when you are no longer a customer), except where the disclosure is made at your request, with your consent, in relation to administering your insurance or where the law requires us. As part of the FSA’s duties, we may be asked to provide them with access to our customer records in order that they may carry out a review of our activities.

Some or all of the information you supply to us in connection with your insurance proposal will be held on computer and may be passed to other insurance companies for underwriting and claims purposes.

Under the Data Protection Act 1998, you have the right to see personal information about you that we hold in our records.   If you have any queries, please contact us at A Manning UK Limited 73a Reading Road, Henley-on-Thames, Oxfordshire RG9 1AX Telephone 01491 578759.
